New to SBC
To help you get to know SBC a little before your visit, we have jotted down some features about the church which you may find useful. We look forward to welcoming you to SBC soon.
What to expect
- A warm welcome
Firstly, everyone is welcome to join us at our Sunday services and other activities at SBC. We are made up of people from all age ranges and diverse backgrounds and so you are likely to meet similar people to you. We strive to demonstrate God's love in our welcome to all newcomers, whether you've never been to church, you are looking for a new church family, or just passing through the area.
- God centred worship
We have all been made to worship God alone and to enjoy Him forever. We therefore spend time praising Him through songs (both old and new), fellowship with Him in prayer and honour Him by listening to His word (the Bible) explained.
- Teaching from God's word
God continues to speak to His people and His world today through the Bible. Teaching from God's word is a central feature of SBC, and our aim is for the Bible to be explained and applied in a relevant way for people seeking to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
- Supportive community
SBC provides an opportunity to develop real relationships with real people. We rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. God wants our relationships to honour Him and we believe support should always be seen in both what we say and what we do.
- Ministering Together
The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. If God has saved you for good works and you are looking for a place to serve Him, we have plenty of opportunities at SBC. We encourage everyone at SBC to use their gifts and talents to advance God's kingdom, for his glory!
