At 9:30am on Good Friday, we’ll consider one of the the most amazing moments in history, the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross. This is not simply an act of heroism or an example of selfless love. Christ embraces the wrath of God so that sinners might be pardoned and reconciled, and be brought lovingly into God’s family.   At 10:30am Easter Sunday, we’ll see that the grave has no power over Jesus. He will be exalted and triumph over the stench of death and sin. If you’ve never been to church, haven’t been for a while or simply exploring Christianity, […]

We had a wonderful weekend of worship, teaching and fellowship from 17-19 March 2017 at Rathane, Port Hacking with friends from Smithfield and Drummoyne. Our camp speaker, David Freeman from Newtown Baptist Church, encouraged us to consider the privilege of declaring God’s glory among the nations, reminded us that we are God’s witnesses here on earth and that we are to be engaged in missions both local and global. Please follow the links below to listen to the messages: Session 1: Declare His Glory (Psalm 96), David Freeman, 18 March 2017 Session 2: You Will Be My Witnesses (Acts 1), David Freeman, 18 March […]

To celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, our first sermon series in 2017 will focus on Luther’s favourite book Galatians. This letter from Paul serves as a wonderful reminder of the freedom we have in the Gospel. It is not a freedom defined by the world, but rather true freedom only found in Jesus Christ. To maintain Gospel freedom we’ll need to be on guard against false teachers peddling inferior ways of salvation. The true gospel frees us from the opinion of others, the crushing weight of God’s law and His righteous condemnation. Please join us 10:30am on Sunday as Michael Prodigalidad takes […]

In a world saturated with ever changing opinions, images & spin, it’s easy to become disillusioned, cynical & fatigued. How should I live my life? What’s morally right & what is wrong? Who can I believe? If you desire truth over triviality, substance over style, character over corruption, there’s no one better than Jesus. In coming weeks, we’ll be looking at who Jesus is & what he taught in Matt5-7. In this series, Jesus will challenge us about the facades we put on, the danger of hypocrisy and what goes on deep within our souls. Jesus takes no prisoners and […]

We’ll be looking at the book of Ruth in May. This short & beautiful literary work starts with darkness as a family attempts to escape famine but experience further tragedy in a foreign land. After losing her husband & sons, Naomi is found materially wanting with no one to provide for her many needs. The book of Ruth gently reminds us that God is the gracious provider of all our needs. He provides grain for Naomi & Ruth, & also a Kinsman Redeemer. But even beyond this, God provides for the nation of Israel in raising up a royal lineage […]

The book of Judges is set in a time when there was no king & everyone did what was right in their own eyes. This is a sad & an embarrassing period in Israel’s history when the people should have conquered the land, but their lack of faith led them to a downward spiral into anarchy. From the chaos, God raised up Judges to deliver the people from their enemies from without & from within. Names such as Gideon, Barak, Samson & Jephthah are lauded as heroes in the New Testament, but a closer look at their lives leaves us […]
